Howdy folks, Seth Manhammer here. Mike was kind enough to let me highjack the Fund-It Friday post this week for something that was near and dear to my heart, something that I’ve even been pimping since episode three of Just the Slips…Incognito Cinema Warriors XP.
Who the hell are they and why should I give them money, you ask?
Well, the extra short version is that they’re a riffing group trying to fill the void where Mystery Science Theater 3000 left off…but with a bit more of an edge. Take a gander at some of their YouTube clips and you’ll get the idea of that aspect of the show. Yes, they’re paying a pretty hard homage to MST3K what with a guy and his robot pals cracking wise to old movies, and a loving homage is what they started out as, but the series has grown from its humble roots. Take a peek at the Agonywolf Media YouTube channel and you’ll be presented with hours of content, from music video parodies to a full playthrough of the Resident Evil remaster (which is hilarious, I might add), done in the same riffing vein we’ve all come to know and love.
Take a look at their videos. Watch a few. You might notice something most other YouTube videos lack. Quality. Or production value. Or actual wit. You’re also seeing blood and sweat from a dedicated few donating time and skill and who knows what else to make a high quality finished product. When people talk about the future of television (or entertainment in general) being a la carte, this level of quality has always been what I’ve seen in my mind’s eye. Frankly, they’re one of the few indie projects that I respect and fund on a monthly basis through Patreon. In case you don’t know the ins and outs of Patreon, I’ll let the ICWXP crew themselves explain in this short video:
Seriously, they deserve your money. Please help them keep making great independent content.
