It’s time to dust off that sadly empty space in your entertainment cabinet right next to the VCR you are holding on to. Nintendo announced today that they are bringing back every child of the 80s favorite console, the Nintendo Entertainment System, in a new minute package.
Dubbed the NES Classic Edition, this pint-sized play machine is rocking some new features to help seamlessly integrate it into the modern living room or den. Gone is the traditional RCA attachments, replaced by the eminently more functional HDMI port. Another stunning feature is suspend points – the device will allow you to save your progress in a game in multiple different slots! No more leaving your system on all night so that you can finally finish Star Tropics.
The device also forgoes cartridge games, instead coming pre-loaded with a solid selection of 30 classic games, including such legends as…well… honestly, I’m not sure there is a better list they could have found. Just check it.
