Gaming Releases for Feb 2017
Enough time has passed by now that you have probably played through the games you got on Black Friday or for Christmas. Unfortunately, February is typically a pretty dry month, so let’s see what we got coming for the gaming releases for Feb 2017!
For Honor (PC, PS4, XBO)
I feel like For Honor has been delayed for forever, at least that is how it feels. I remember preordering this one at the Ubisoft booth at PAX Prime either last year or the year before. It was one of those free shirt deals where you get the shirt now and you cancel your preorder later. It’s actually a pretty cool shirt now that I think about it… But anyway, this game looks interesting to me because of the three very unique factions (Knights, Samurai, and Vikings) all mixing together in multiplayer combat, and each faction looks visually exciting to play. There’s also a single player campaign, but let’s be real here, if Ubisoft can not mess up their servers, this will be on to play online against other people. Pick your faction on Feb 14th.
Sniper Elite 4 (PC, PS4, XBO)
I never got into the Sniper Elite games, but I will say this about the franchise – it’s fans are die hard. I may not get the appeal here, but I can’t deny that they are great games that fill a very specific niche. Fans of this series can get their scopes cleaned and ready to go for a Feb 14 release date.
Halo Wars 2 (PC, XBO)
Easily the biggest and most exciting thing to come out in February is Halo Wars 2. This RTS is being developed by 343 up in Redmond and is looking like it could be quite good… if they avoid the pay to win model…. Halo Wars 2 releases on Feb. 21st.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided A Criminal Past DLC (PC, PS4, XBO)
The much beloved Deus Ex gets a story DLC called A Criminal Past, which will explore Adam Jensen’s first missions for Task Force 29. This is part of the season pass and is a prequel to the main storyline of Deus Ex:MD. You can get this on Feb. 23rd.
Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4)
Guerilla Games, the makers of the popular Killzone games return with a new IP called Horizon Zero Dawn. Easily one of the more intriguing trailers the year it was announced at E3, this features an interesting mixtures of primitive and advanced technology in a way that has my curiosity piqued. Check out the trailer below and grab this one on Feb. 28th.
