I’m going to keep this short and sweet. I will preface this by saying that I cannot review Hillary’s America without a bias, as I myself am fairly liberal and consider myself a democrat. However, in my defense, I am all about listening to others’ opinions and am willing to concede that both sides have their merits.
It is with this spirit that I went into Hillary’s America, which was sent to us for review.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect going into this, but I was hoping for something that would present a valid argument against the Democratic party. Instead, what we get here is perhaps the most dangerous kind of propaganda that I have ever personally encountered.
I want to make this clear, as this is definitely the point where Republicans would scoff this article off as bias. I would have loved to have seen a documentary present facts and uncover the unsavory history of either or both political parties. We all know there is plenty of dirt to uncover there.
The narrator Dinesh D’Souza gives an interesting performance, sounding almost like a Stephen Colbert or Jon Stewart with the way he speaks, although he is not kidding around. He starts off early in the documentary by interviewing some inmates at a prison. They discuss a scheme where they sold life insurance to people in the community, who then mysteriously died shortly after. It ended up benefiting those who sold the insurance. This, he explains, is just like the Democrats.
Then things go do a strange, incoherent trip into the rabbit hole.
We learn that the Democrats that we know today were founded during Roosevelt’s presidency. However, for some reason, the next half of the film talks about Andrew Jackson molesting his slaves, how the Civil War being between the north and the south is propaganda, as all Democrats wanted slavery and how “not one single Republican owned a slave”, and how the Democrats have tried their hardest to keep segregation and stop women from voting.
As if this wasn’t bad enough, not only does he provide no evidence to these claims, he goes even further, basically blaming every single stain in America’s history on the Dems. I won’t be so daft as to assume that some of his statements have partial truth, but it’s impossible to take this man seriously when everything he says is so blood boilingly outrageous. Also, I would say the exact same if he said the same things and was blaming the Republicans.
I don’t know what this film is meant to do. It spends about 20 minutes discussing Obama and Hillary Clinton, and that time is mostly spent trying to make Hillary look either racist or out of control with her marriage. I can’t imagine many people could take this seriously and I highly encourage any who wants to look for more information, to get it from a less partial source.

Hillary’s America Final thoughts:
In the end, I think that this type of film is downright dangerous. Masquerading all of these partial truths and blatant lies as fact is good for no one. Get facts and establish your own opinions, or at least listen to someone who isn’t going to lie their asses off.
Hillary’s America is available now on DVD and Blu-ray. The DVD copy we received comes with a slipcover, UV copy, and a coupon for $5 off of a book. I can’t recommend any of it to anyone.
