Mulholland Drive (2001)
What is real and what is a dream? Those are questions frequently asked by the master of absurd cinema writer/director David Lynch. This week’s Digital Drive In Podcast does not tackle an explanation of the film Mulholland Drive, but it’s more of an appreciation of the characters and craft behind the film.
Join Alex and Garrett as they head deep inside the blue box and find out if there really is a band or not. World’s collide with the jigsaw puzzle of a film with themes and scenarios of previous (and future) Lynch releases oh what some call the greatest movie of the 21st century. There is a short discussion of how this was originally intended as a TV pilot and some of the special features of the Criterion Blu-ray release. So sit back, turn those headphones up and repeat to yourself that “this is the podcast”.
Welcome to the start of a new season of the Digital Drive-In Podcast! This season we’ve got lots of fun stuff planned, including some special non-numbered episodes on non-films and some special guests! There’s also a new game to be played each episode… how long does it take for Garrett to mention David Lynch and/or Twin Peaks? Answer: not long. Ever (especially this week!).
